Tina Nigro is a Costume Designer living in New York City.
An artist with a wide-ranging background, Tina Nigro is a versatile collaborator who has built an influential body of work across genres. She has a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge that transforms concepts into vivid designs and elevates every project she works on.
Early in her costume design career, Tina worked with producer Tom Fontana and designed the NBC crime drama classic, HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET starring Andre Braugher, Richard Beltzer, Melissa Leo, and Yaphet Kotto. Alongside Fontana and HBO, Tina continued to design other iconic titles, including OZ starring Ernie Hudson and Terry Kinney, STRIP SEARCH starring Glenn Close, and SHOT IN THE HEART starring Giovanni Ribisi and Elia Koteas.
She then teamed up with legendary producer Dick Wolf to design six seasons of NBC’s cultural monument, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT starring Mariska Hargitay, Chris Meloni, Richard Beltzer, Ice-T, and Dan Florek. Across 136 episodes, Tina helped shape the aesthetic of one of America’s most significant television shows at the height of its popularity.
After SVU, Tina designed a string of beloved, off-beat comedies. Most notably, she worked with producer Tina Fey on Netflix’s smash hit, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT and its interactive Netflix special, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT: KIMMY VS. THE REVEREND starring Ellie Kemper, Titus Burgess, Jane Krakowski, and Carol Kane. Her collaboration with Tina Fey continued with season 1 of the Peacock series GIRLS5EVA, starring Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
Tina most recently designed four seasons of the NBC hospital drama, NEW AMSTERDAM starring Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Jocko Sims, and Tyler Labine.
